About Finest Family Hotels
Finest Family Hotels (FFH) started for one very simple reason: there was no trusted place for high-quality family travel that cut through glossy promises, vague “family-friendly” labels, and the exhausting guesswork which hotels were truly great for families. Too many places call themselves family-friendly when what they really mean is one extra bed, a bland kids’ menu, and a pool somewhere in the distance. We wanted an editorial guide to the finest family hotels, chosen for quality, character, and how well they actually work once children, naps, allergies, early dinners, and real-life logistics enter the room.

What we do
We review and rank exceptional hotels through a family lens without lowering the bar on design, service, or taste. That means looking closely at sleep setups, kids’ clubs, food flexibility, safety, space, transfers, and whether a property genuinely works for babies, little kids, tweens, and teens — not just in the brochure, but in practice. No fluffy superlatives. No vague “perfect for families” nonsense. Just clear, beautifully curated guidance for families who want somewhere genuinely special, not merely expensive.
How We Review (The FFH Score)
Our FFH Score is built on five carefully weighted criteria designed specifically for family travel. Each property is evaluated across these areas, and we publish both the overall score and the detailed breakdown to ensure complete transparency.
Five weighted criteria, tuned for family needs. We publish the total and the breakdown for transparency:
We calculate the total the same way for every hotel — no property can negotiate its score, and none has ever received a 10.0; nothing is flawless. Where a listing draws mainly on documented research rather than a recent stay, we say so on the page, and we revisit scores as new information comes in. Methodology v1.0.
Transparency
We earn through clearly marked affiliate links or partnerships; your price stays the same. Complimentary stays, if any, are disclosed and never guarantee coverage or a positive review. We correct mistakes fast — tell us if you spot one.
Safety, inclusion & accessibility
Child safety is non-negotiable. We pay attention to supervision ratios, water safety, and club policies. We look for allergy-aware dining, mobility access, and spaces that work for neurodiverse kids. If a place isn’t ready, we say so and explain why.
The People Behind FFH
Finest Family Hotels was founded by Alexander and Carmen Eissing as parents who wanted a better way to discover exceptional family stays.
Our editors, researchers, and contributors help review hotels, verify facts, refine scoring, update guides, and keep the recommendations practical. We welcome parents’ feedback in the FFH community, because the small details often matter most.
